The new Fast-Mount Strip Door by Chase makes the job of hanging strip doors even easier. The Fast-Mount design eliminates multiple studs and fasteners, and ensures a simple, fast installation. Simply attach the mounting bracket to the wall, slide the J-Hook Strips into the bracket and install the locking screws at each end to hold the strips in place. No more time consuming layout, measuring or calculating overlap of strips as a preset overlap has already been established. The J-Hooks have a continuous welded bond between each strip. If the strips ever come unsealed from the J-Hook we guarantee free replacement including freight.

In addition to the Fast-Mount Strip Door, Chase is also exhibiting a flexible traffic door and two impact traffic doors, the Durulite Standard and Retailer, both of which are constructed with rotationally molded polyethylene outer skin and a Non-CFC urethane foam core. The ColdGuard Swing door incorporates a tough and thermally neutral fiberglass reinforced pultrusion framework, FRP face casings and a Non-CFC foamed-in-place polyurethane core. Also on display is the DuraShield Roll-up Vinyl and Bug Door and the beautiful Fib-R-Max fiberglass Door that just so happens to be the strongest, most durable and dependable fiberglass door on the market! Last but definitely not least, our DuraSpan Insulated and Non-insulated Curtains are on display and trust me, this is an economical solution to dividing up space that you won’t want to miss out on!

Durable Durulite Doors

Chase Duralite doors are well known for being the toughest traffic doors on the market, and for good reason. They are rotationally molded, meaning they don’t need mechanical fasteners or adhesives to keep different layers of material together (such as a frame, wood, laminates, and composites, you get the idea).

Durulite Industrial Door

Granted, that’s a very good way to manufacture a door: many traffic doors (including our Proline and SC3000 series) are made this way: differing materials “laid up” into the final door assembly.

It’s just that the adhesives and mechanical fasteners used in a laid up door don’t have much “stretching” ability upon large impacts, so if the door is used in situations where they are subject to frequent heavy impacts like those from a forklift, they can be more susceptible to failure.

Roto Molding – Say What?

Roto Molding Def

Rotational Molding, often referred to simply as “roto molding”, offers many distinct advantages when building an industrial-strength traffic door.

  • The door is a one-piece hollow shell, without seams to separate or deteriorate.
  • The cross-linked polyethylene we use is strong, flexible, and able to withstand exposure to solvents and adhesives.
  • Non-CFC foam fills the entire core of the door, providing excellent insulation and helping the door to absorb heavy impacts with ease.
  • The doors are lighter than a traditional laid up door would be, since there is no internal framework necessary.
  • Since Durulite doors are sealed, they can be used in cooler and freezer environments without worry.

Roto molding a traffic door is actually a very interesting process – read more about what happens at our facility.

Why Durulite Doors?

Chase invented the roto molded traffic door in 1976 and we have sold over 500,000 since then! Every one of these doors is custom manufactured at our facility in Redmond, Oregon, where we can monitor the entire process, from raw material inputs to proper molding techniques, to make sure you’re getting the highest quality door possible.

Standard impact resistance tests have shown that cross-linked polyethylene is 5x more puncture resistant and 3x more flexible than ABS panels which are typically used by competitors.

So when you need the strongest, yet lightest door possible, stick with the name that says it all: Durulite!

Chase SRP 5000 Traffic Door Improvements

At Chase Doors, we’re always looking for ways to make improvements to our products – it’s part of a culture of continuous improvement that we embrace throughout the company.

One of the latest updates is to our SRP 5000, which is a lightweight, durable and affordable traffic door available in 7 different colors. The door panel continues to be made of the same, 1/2” thick USDA-accepted, stress-relieved high-density polyethylene. Since these door panels are textured and the color flows throughout the panel, normal dents and scratches are hidden. making them perfect for high traffic retail openings between the stock room and sales floor.

The changes we’re making are to the hardware we’re building the door with. After extensive testing, we’re pleased to announce that we are upgrading the back spine from a 2″ anodized aluminum tube, to a stainless steel rectangular back spine which wraps tightly around the door. This improves the appearance of the door, with a neater, cleaner look, while providing the same rigidity as the aluminum tube.

Old-SRP-5000-WebThe back spine change also allows us to shift to our proven “E” hinge system, which is an offset gravity hinge system. Like our “C” hinge, the “E” hinge offers years of trouble-free service and minimal maintenance requirements, but with the black hinge cover, it offers a tighter, cleaner look.

New-SRP-5000-webThe sum of these changes means we can offer the door with slightly tighter clearances now too, further improving the overall look. We hope you agree that these changes will give you better performance and a neater appearance for these proven doors.

New Food Safety Rules

Recently we’ve read several articles about proposed new food safety rules under the 2011 Food Safety Modernization Act. These new rules would largely affect produce producers and packers, but also would give the FDA new powers to conduct surprise inspections and shut down food facilities. These new powers are primarily geared toward fresh produce that is typically consumed raw. While the implementation of these new rules is several years off, it’s clear that food safety and contamination is a big issue.

Food growers, processors and packers need to make sure their facilities are clean and uncontaminated, just as they need to follow good practices to prevent the spread of disease. Doors serve as a key link in preventing the spread of germs and bacteria in food processing and other manufacturing facilities. Traffic doors (which swing both directions) are a key component to minimizing the spread of contaminants, as they allow for easy passage of people, carts, pallet jacks and forklifts, in either direction.

Chase Doors has many traffic doors suited for food processing or specialty manufacturing facilities. We have flexible doors, such as our AirGard® series, that are made from USDA accepted materials. These are easy to clean and help reduce the risk of spreading contamination, making them perfect in food processing, storage or refrigerated areas. AirGard 300Another great choice is the Durulite® Industrial traffic door. Constructed of rotationally molded cross-linked polyethylene, it has a monolithic shell (no gaps or seams), making it ideal for repeated washdown applications. Forklift traffic is no problem, and it is impervious to acids, petroleum products, animal fats and cleaning solvents. Best of all, it’s NSF® certified and USDA accepted. USDA_logoNSF Blue 200x200DuruLite Industrial
For the ultimate in convenience and contamination prevention, the Saino Model 73000 sliding door is designed for installations requiring the highest sanitary standards. The fully flush panel design is not only beautiful, it’s easy to clean. Stainless steel face sheets wrap around the door, eliminating “catch points” for contaminants. Vision panels and pull handles fit flush into the door panel for ease of cleaning. Gaskets fit into keyways in the door panel, assuring a tight seal. It can be motorized for completely hands-free access. 73000At Chase Doors, we take seriously our job to help you ensure your facilities meet their sanitary goals. What Makes it XHD?

With StorePoint 2013 wrapping up, we thought it was a great time to clarify some questions we’ve been asked before – what does the XHD stand for, and what makes it XHD? In the case of the Durulite Retailer XHD, it means “eXtra Heavy Duty”, and it is the ideal door for busy, high volume retail and grocery establishments.

Retailer XHD To make it XHD, we build on the strength of our Durulite Retailer door, adding several features to make this door even tougher and able to withstand all sorts of abuse, from frequent personnel and carts, to manual and motorized pallet jacks and even occasional low speed forklift traffic.

For example, the upper V-Cam hinge is upgraded to a fully composite roller assembly featuring stainless steel bearings, allowing it to resist corrosion and rust over the life of the door while traveling up to 120 degrees in either direction. XHD V-Cam Hinge

The lower hinge is upgraded to a heavy duty, stainless steel lower hinge guard assembly, which not only protects the door from impact, but creates a positive hinge mount. Finally, we add a heavy duty aluminum back spine with a powder coat finish, which adds strength and rigidity to the entire panel – this allows us to offer more size options on the XHD than the standard Durulite Retailer.

Retailer XHD LHGLike its little brother, the Durulite Retailer, the Durulite Retailer XHD is made from rotationally molded cross-linked polyethylene and is filled with impact absorbing non-CFC urethane foam. With no gaps, joints or seams, the XHD is USDA acceptedUSDA_logo and is ideal for high moisture or regular washdown environments such as those found in supermarkets, food processing and cold storage facilities. Replaceable perimeter edge gaskets and an overall R-factor of 10.8, minimize energy loss between different environments within your facility.Durulite Edge Gasket

If you’ve got a busy grocery or retail environment and want the most rugged, durable door for your opening, the XHD offers you the best combination of long-term value and durability.
